When people think of Pensacola, the beach usually comes first. But downtown has its own kind of beauty—charming cobblestone streets, historic architecture, and shaded parks that make portraits feel timeless and unique. For couples and families who want something beyond the shoreline, Downtown Pensacola is the perfect backdrop. As a photographer, I’ve spent years exploring this area and finding the little corners that catch the prettiest light. Here are a few of my favorite spots to take photos downtown, and why I love them. Seville Square - With its sprawling oak trees and relaxed atmosphere, Seville Square feels both historic and intimate. The fountain adds a romantic touch, making it a favorite for couples and families alike. Historic Doors and Architecture - Downtown Pensacola is full of character, from brick walls to tall wooden doors. These details create a backdrop that is classic and understated, keeping the focus on you while still adding richness to your portraits. Side Streets and Hidden Corners:  Some of my favorite images come from tucked-away alleys and ivy-covered walls. These quieter spots give a sense of privacy and allow for natural, candid moments. City Parks and Fountains: The parks throughout downtown create space for relaxed portraits with greenery and charm. Fountains and pathways bring variety to your gallery and work beautifully for both couples and families.

Bayfront Views: Just steps from the heart of downtown, the bayfront offers sweeping waterfront views. At sunset, the light here is golden and soft, blending coastal and city backdrops in one location.

Tips for Your Downtown Session:

Best Time: Sessions are usually scheduled in the evening when the light is soft and flattering.

Wardrobe: Neutral and muted tones—beige, white, sage, rust, mustard—look especially beautiful against the brick and greenery.

Comfort: Since we’ll walk between a few spots, it’s best to choose comfortable shoes or bring a pair to slip into between locations.
